Episode 150 – ENCORE Episode: Chris Bournea

It’s episode #150 and The PVDcast is going to try something new by presenting an ENCORE presentation of a previous installment. To coincide with his huge movie premier next Thursday, I am sharing my conversation with Columbus filmmaker, Chris Bournea, on this ENCORE edition. Chris and I will discuss his documentary, Lady Wrestler: The Amazing, Untold Story of African-American Women in the Ring. This documentary chronicles the lives and careers of three brave, African -American women who fought to make their mark in the world of pro wrestling. You’re sure to learn something about pro wrestling, including how pivotal Columbus was to women’s wrestling.

Episode 149 – Stephanie Phillips

On this episode of The PVDcast, two of my favorite passions are merged together – hockey and comics! I am joined by Stephanie Phillips, the creator of Kicking Ice. This graphic novel tells the tale of two young girls, who have a love for hockey. But, their love of the game is challenged by those who think that girls shouldn’t share the same ice as boys. Stephanie shares why she created this graphic novel, her background in hockey, her fandom for the Tampa Bay Lightning and a few other topics.
