On this episode of The PVDcast, I chat with two independent filmmakers who are creating unique and interesting art. My first guest is Paul Ross, a videographer/filmmaker from the U.K. Paul has created a documentary focusing on his friend and comic book artist, Dean Ormston. We chat about his friendship with Dean, the focus of the documentary, life in Barnsley, England and the current Kickstarter to fund the project. My second guest is Rebekah Miskin, creator of the web-series, Night Owl. Rebekah talks about the origin of her project, the challenges of making a web-series, the response to the project and how she is helping others through Night Owl. The pandemic stopped sports in its tracks, leaving many of its loyal fans clamoring for their return. Over the past few weeks, several professional leagues have returned to action. This includes the NHL, who put a plan in place to make the Stanley Cup playoffs a reality for 2020. On this episode of The PVDcast, I am joined by fellow hockey enthusiast, Luc Landry, to talk about this year’s playoffs. We discuss how the playoffs have a different structure, which teams have a shot to lift Lord Stanley’s Cup and some of the concerns about playing during the pandemic, despite lots of safety and security protocols.
