Episode 246 – Paul Ross & Rebekah Miskin

On this episode of The PVDcast, I chat with two independent filmmakers who are creating unique and interesting art. My first guest is Paul Ross, a videographer/filmmaker from the U.K. Paul has created a documentary focusing on his friend and comic book artist, Dean Ormston. We chat about his friendship with Dean, the focus of the documentary, life in Barnsley, England and the current Kickstarter to fund the project. My second guest is Rebekah Miskin, creator of the web-series, Night Owl. Rebekah talks about the origin of her project, the challenges of making a web-series, the response to the project and how she is helping others through Night Owl. Episode 245 – NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs 2020

The pandemic stopped sports in its tracks, leaving many of its loyal fans clamoring for their return. Over the past few weeks, several professional leagues have returned to action. This includes the NHL, who put a plan in place to make the Stanley Cup playoffs a reality for 2020. On this episode of The PVDcast, I am joined by fellow hockey enthusiast, Luc Landry, to talk about this year’s playoffs. We discuss how the playoffs have a different structure, which teams have a shot to lift Lord Stanley’s Cup and some of the concerns about playing during the pandemic, despite lots of safety and security protocols. In the world of movies, remakes & reboots can be a source for controversy. This episode of The PVDcast features my recent appearance on Mike McGTV’s YouTube show, Remake Revolution. The premise of the show is a competition to see who can come up with a solid plan to revamp a movie. Competing on this edition are Team 3 Geeks, Max & Dan from The 3 Geeks Podcast versus Vantage Inhouse Productions’ Victor Dandridge & Comic Town’s co-owner Ryan Seymore. Episode 243 – Stephen Hines VI

An unstoppable killer is on the loose and this killer has only one name on their hit-list…Karen! This is the plot to the marvelously macabre comic called Soccer Mom Killer. My guest on this episode of The PVDcast is the creator of this comic, Stephen Hines. We chat about the origin of this tale, some of the happenings from issues 1 and 2 and the Kickstarter for the third and final installment. Stephen is also a musician and we talk about Stephen’s new song, Covidiots. This song’s proceeds will be going to two different charities to help with COVID relief. Episode 242 – Hallea Jones & Lori Lethin

This episode will be a unique episode of The PVDcast, as it is a collaborative edition with The 3 Geeks Podcast. On this episode, two celebrity guests stop by to talk about the art of acting. The first guest is actress and musician, Hallea Jones, who is most known for her role as Eden Hawkins on Netflix’s Locke & Key. We chat with Hallea about acting, her experiences on Locke and Key and her budding music career. The second guest is Lori Lethin, who is most known for her roles in Matlock, The Day After, The Wave and many more TV series and movies. Lori appeared as a guest on MatTalk, the new Matlock-themed podcast I am working on with Jason Taylor. Lori share stories of working on Matlock, learning from Andy Griffith and more!

Episode 241 – Damian & Helena (Art Nine Two)

On this episode of The PVDcast, I am joined by two guests – Damian and Helena from Art Nine Two. Damian and Helena have created a horror comic called Pre-Mortis, as well as many other solo projects. One of these solo projects is Damian’s sci-fi/pro wrestling comic called Galaxy Grappling Alliance (GGA). Damian and I chat about his comic, his wrestling and sci-fi fandom, and the current Kickstarter for GGA #2. Helena and I discuss her comic, My Little Green Bike, and a new instructional program that teaches art by using the likenesses of dogs and cats. Green Lantern is one of DC Comics’ most beloved superheroes. On this episode of The PVDcast, I sit down with Darryl Banks to talk about his time working on Green Lantern. Darryl is one of the co-creators of Kyle Rayner and we discuss the creation of the character, as well as fan reaction to a new Emerald Knight. We also chat about Darryl’s beginnings in the comics industry and his last project, a World War II graphic novel called Harken’s Raiders. The world has changed due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. With these changes to our daily lives and routines, there is a need for answers. My guest on this episode of The PVDcast is author, Francesca Cavallo. We chat about Doctor Li and the Crown Wearing Virus, which is a children’s book about the Coronavirus penned by Francesca. We chat about the ongoing Kickstarter campaign to fund the book, the reason why Francesca wrote the book and how we can help children get the answers they need during the pandemic.
