Episode 212 – Survivor Series Preview 2019

Next week is Thanksgiving and, of course, that means it is time for the annual WWE pay-per-view spectacular, The Survivor Series! This year’s event promises to be historic, as all three WWE brands – RAW, Smackdown and NXT- will participate in various matches on the card. On this episode of The PVDcast, I am joined by DJ Joey Blayze to discuss the Survivor Series and give our insights and predictions on what might happen. We also chat about the other big event for the weekend, NXT: Takeover War Games and explain what surprises we think could be in store on that card. Episode 211 – AEW Full Gear Review

All Elite Wrestling has been on the TNT Network for the past 6 weeks. The company presented Full Gear this past Saturday, which was their first pay-per-view event since broadcasting their show, Wednesday Night Dynamite, on TNT. On this episode of The PVDcast, I am joined by friend of the show, Will (@TheW34ponx) to discuss this pay-per-view spectacle. We recap all the matches and give our opinions on them.  We also talk about the direction of some of the storylines and we reveal what we felt was the match of the night. It’s an episode that gives you plenty of insight with no false finishes!

Episode 210 – Jack Wallace 3

On this episode of The PVDcast, I am joined by Jack Wallace from Disposable Fiction Comics. Jack and I talk about the history of Disposable Fiction Comics, his various other books (such as The Marriage Act and Matter of Perception) and the current Kickstarter for his new project. This Kickstarter will fund Jack’s new endeavor to put both volumes of his latest book, Frankenstein for Mayor into a graphic novel. We even dive into Jack’s work on The Columbus Scribbler and his experience being nominated for an Eisner Award for that project! Like a story that Jack penned, this edition is not only boisterous, but poignant too.

Episode 209 – Wizard World Columbus 2019

Brian Lau and I were at the show promoting Brian’s projects, Staunch Ambition and Inferno City Firehouse. I give my opinion on the first week of the NXT vs. AEW showdown, as well as the very first Smackdown on Fox. I also discuss the wonderfully nostalgic feel to the new NWA Power TV product and explain my likes and dislikes of that wrestling program. On this episode of The PVDcast, I sit down with legendary comic creator, Arvell Jones. We discuss his career in comics, including co-creating Misty Knight and his run on All-Star Squadron. Despite his long career, Arvell is not content to rest on his laurels. He gives us a brief explanation of his new project, Reign of the Underdog and drops the hint about another new project that is in the works! You will even hear some great behind the scenes tales about working for Marvel and D.C. from Arvell!

A few weeks ago, I traveled to Monroe, Michigan to attend the Monroe Pop Fest (formerly the Monroe Comic Con). This episode of The PVDcast will highlight my trip to this fantastic convention. You will hear my conversations with Rob Miller from the television competition show, Face Off; the man who played both Sabretooth and Michael Myers, Tyler Mane and everyone’s favorite Comic Book Man, Ming Chen. Clare and I discuss her various projects, including The Apple Knight and The Department of Final Fulfillment. We also discuss her collaboration with Tim Switalski, who has paired with Clare on many of her projects. Clare also shares stories from comic conventions, including her role in organizing the annual independent comic convention, Genghis Con.
