Episode 331 – Peter Abeyta (MCFC)

Movies are at the center of discussion on this episode of The PVDcast. My guest for this chat about movies is Peter Abeyta from the Middle Class Film Class (MCFC) podcast. Peter, along with fellow hosts, Tyler and Joseph, produce this entertaining podcast that’s part movie news and part movie reviews. We discuss the format of the show, the origins of MCFC and even talk about Peter’s favorite episodes. Episode 330 – Michael Spedden II

My guest on this episode of The PVDcast might be referred to as a Renaissance Man. Michael Spedden is my guest and we chat about his many different projects. Michael is the creator of the Fowl Players Radio podcast and the driving force behind the acting troupe, The Fowl Players of Perryville. Michael and I talk about these endeavors in detail, highlighting their respective histories. We also talk about Michael’s acting career, which includes a small role on Gotham, a national advertisement for JD Wentworth and a mysterious new project that just wrapped. We end the episode with a fond discussion of our mothers, just in time for Mother’s Day.

The post-season for the NHL starts this weekend and that means this edition of The PVDcast is going to be packed with hockey talk! My guest, Luc Landry, makes his return to chat with me about this year’s contenders and pretenders to Lord Stanley’s Cup. We review the possible matchups, which players must have great performances and of course, what teams we think will win it all. My guest on this episode of The PVDcast is truly an independent filmmaker who has produced several films on microscopic budgets. Cody Clarke is the guest that I am referring to and we chat about his philosophy on filmmaking. We also discuss his various film projects, including his most recent, Oscar’s. Cody also talks about his poetry and how it helps keep his creativity razor sharp. It’s an insightful edition that no fan of independent film will want to miss!

Episode 327 – Thomas Angeletti

Movies take center stage on this episode of The PVDcast. My guest is Thomas Angeletti, a Columbus based photographer and film maker. Thomas is also the driving force behind Alysm Films. We chat about his various film projects, which include the horror film, Perdition. Thomas also clues me in on the concept of “microfilms”, super short films perfect for Instagram, Snap Chat or Tik Tok. Additionally, we talk about Thomas’ career as a photographer and even fit in some hockey talk! Where else can you hear a podcast that combines dark rooms and penalty boxes in the same episode?

Episode 326 – Wrestlemania Review 2022

Last weekend, the biggest pro wrestling event of the year took place. Wrestlemania was a two-night spectacular that featured some awesome wrestling action, shocking surprises, and glorious returns. On this episode of The PVDcast, I am joined by DJ Joey Blayze (one-half of The Pro Wrestling Pundits) to recap this event. We review our predictions for the event, analyze each match and talk about what possible storylines might be happening in the future. One might say that this edition of The PVDcast is a real stunner (pun intended)!

Additionally, we comment on what surprises are rumored to happen and how those surprises might fit into future booking plans. We talk about the current Kickstarter for the project, the backstory to the comic and future plans for Jimmy Nation. We wrap up the episode discussing comics book favorites, Rory’s wrestling fandom and his acting career!

It has been said that pro wrestling is like a live action comic book. My guest on PVDcast #322 can attest to that statement! Eric Watkins, one half of Broken Icon Comics, joins me to discuss his company’s newest comic, The Adventures of Al Snow and Head ft. Chavo Guerrero Jr. Eric fills me in on how this project became a reality, why he decided to use the genre of Western for the project and info on the current Kickstarter to help fund the project. We also dive into Eric’s comic book and wrestling fandoms, as well as discussing some of Broken Icon Comics’ massive catalog of comics!
